The Mustard Seed Education Foundation Scholarships
Due April 2025

School families and parishioners at the following will be eligible to receive scholarships from The Mustard Seed  (preschool through 8th grade):
  • In addition to schools in Lucas and Wood County, OH, school families and parishioners from the 6 parishes and 2 schools in southeastern Monroe County in the Archdiocese of Detroit: Erie St. Joseph, Temperance Mount Carmel, Temperance St. Anthony, Monroe St. Mary, Monroe St. John, Monroe St. Michael, and Monroe Catholic Elementary.
Our scholarships are all based on parables and other Gospel passages and are up to $2000 per family.  All have special meaning to us and we are blessed each year to award the following:
  • The Scholarship of The Mustard Seed is awarded to committed Catholic families that help spread the word of God in their community. It is based on Matthew 13: 31-32.
  • The Scholarship of The Offering is awarded to single parents doing everything they can to send their children to Catholic schools.  It is based on Mark 12: 41-44.
  • The Scholarship of the Good Shepherd is awarded to a public school family wanting to try Catholic schools for the first time.  It is based on John 10: 14-17.

Education for A Brighter Future Fund Scholarship

Established in 2001 as a partner of the Children’s Scholarship Fund in New York (CSF), the Education for a Brighter Future Endowed Fund provides scholarships to families in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb and Monroe counties who desire a Catholic or other private school education for their children in grades K-8.

Families who wish to send their children to Catholic or other private schools in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb and Monroe counties can apply for a scholarship through the Education for a Brighter Future Endowed Fund; scholarships will be awarded to eligible students based on financial need, chosen by a random drawing.

Applications are due April 22, 2025, for the 2025-2026 school year for students entering grades K-5. Once awarded a scholarship, a student may remain in the program through 8th grade if the family continues to meet the eligibility guidelines. There is no application fee required for this scholarship fund. If chosen for a scholarship, a student may receive up to $3,500 per academic year.
