Photos from Camp Storer 2016
The Flags were flying high over the kids on this their final day at camp. Our cabins and bathrooms received final "mop-n-glow" awards presented to the cabin leaders. Our students learned about reptiles and amphibians, how to classify pond organisms, the all the life inside a pond. They held snakes and turtles, hiked around the lake and learned about invasive species and even the start of Camp Storer.  One final flag closing ceremony with dinner and some fun, before they hit the road home tonight .
No cell phones, no iPads, no TV. Just our students and God's wonderful creation. Take a moment, reflect and enjoy the peace in this video.

Day Three: Enjoying God's Creation and Realizing What You Can Do!
Their last full day was great! Some dedicated MCES student runners have been going on morning runs with Ms. Wick. For those who don't know she is SMCC's track and Cross Country Coach so when you run with her, you must LOVE running! Camp includes beautiful sunrises on the lake, wild turkeys and even some random human artifacts like airplane steps. Learning how to make a fire without matches, how high you can climb (Even Ms. Wong went all the way up!) and becoming a pro in the canoe are all skills the kids are learning. Even when the rain started, it didn't end their fun. Some of our boys got to take care of the flag today, one got to announce the Zero Waste winners and one of our girls received the honor of being recognized for showing "I am Third" behaviors. We are blessed with a great group of kids.
Thanks for letting your kids grow in faith, knowledge and wisdom this week. Without cell phone, iPads or video games. As this article says, "Do you know what happens when kids don’t have cell phones, can’t use a computer, and can’t tune out the world with headphones? They make friends!" Click Here to read it all.

Day Two: Sunny skies and loads of fun!

The kids had a perfect weather day and lots of fun!  All of our MCES groups won golden dust pans and toilet seats for clean cabins and bathrooms (see they can do it at home!) Their activities included teamwork challenges, canoe safety and canoeing! Hannah Mills celebrated her birthday, Josh Theisen was recognized for showing a "I'm third attitude" and they wrapped up the night with a game of Predator vs. Prey.
Day One: Off they go and first day fun!
