Dear MCES Families, A goal of MCES is to ensure we are forming the whole person. MCES is happy to announce that we have hired a full-time School Counselor to serve grades PreK- 8. Mr. Edwards will handle the day-to-day school counseling, fostering academic, social, and emotional growth. He will serve to encourage students to better understand their relationships, make wise choices regarding social and emotional issues they must confront, begin to explore the world of work while assessing realistic options, and grow as productive, contributing members of their families, school and community. For more intensive counseling needs, will also be continuing our partnership with K.E. Rivard Counseling, owned by former MCES Parent and Interventionist, Kristy Rivard, a licensed professional counselor. K.E. Rivard Counseling will be able to offer counseling services to students during the school day. Counseling can help to guide and improve- school, social, family issues, and behavior concerns. It can help deal with stress, anxiety, life changes and more. If you are interested in pursuing either counseling services for your child or would like more information about counseling, please contact your child's campus office and/ or see the information included. Counseling is available at parent request, utilizing your family's insurance for K.E. Rivard Counseling. MCES will not enroll a student in this counseling option without parent permission and parents must initiate the process by calling the number listed in the letter below. Counseling might not be right for every student, but as a partner in your child's developmental process, it is important to share this opportunity with you.
