Friday, February 10th: Spelling Test Week 13 and Animal Project Due
The students are continuing with doing research for their animal writing project. They have picked what they want to do for their final project. Directions for completing the final project will come home this week. The new due date for the final project is Friday, February 10th.
Reading Log: The next reading log will be due on Friday, March 3rd. The students should be reading 10-15 minutes each week night, taking weekends off. In order to receive full credit for a reading log, a student must have a minimum of 15 entries in on month. Parents must initial or sign the reading log. Less than 15 entries on a reading log will result in loss of points.
Writing and Editing Tests: The students will be tested every other week on writing, typically on Fridays. We go over paragraph editing every day in class. Fridays they will be tested on the skills learned throughout that week (such as end marks, capitals, underlining, quotes, etc...). They will also be tested on writing a short paragraph on an assigned topic using those same skills.
