Sheena Zawistowicz - St. Mary Principal (Grades 5-8)
Welcome back students and parents!
We have had a good first few days of school and are now properly into the school year. Please check the calendar regularly to keep up-to-date with upcoming events – Picture Day is Sept. 19th
PTO Apples: Thank you to all the parents who donated to the Teacher Apples and a special thanks to Stacy Lipford and the other volunteers who made the program work.
Mass: Our students plan the weekly Mass according to their advisory groups. Parents are encouraged to join us at 8:15 on Wednesdays to celebrate the Mass together. Note: there will be no Wednesday Mass on September 25th.
Powerschool: Thank you for your patience with Powerschool as the transitions at the Arch Diocese take effect. If you are still experiencing problems with logging on after Monday please let me know. New parents, expect your log in information to come home with your child next week.
Uniforms: The uniforms are looking good so far but please remember that the girls’ skirts should be no more than 2” above the knee. This is a time of rapid growth for many students so we ask that you monitor regularly. Also, headbands should be uniform colors only (navy, white, red, yellow or neutral black, brown, cream) and flowers are not appropriate. Bows should be no larger than 3” across.
Parking and Pick Up/Drop Off: Our parking and drop off procedures are designed to keep our students safe. Please respect the instructions from duty staff as to where to drop off your students. To make drop off and pick up most efficient please pull up to the end of the line as directed, rather than trying to stop by the gym doors.
Please do not park in the area outside the PLC to wait for your students. Students have to cross this area to get to the buses. If you are waiting for students from the shuttles you can park in the area between the school and the social hall. Other parents are requested to pick up in the main parking lot.
Morley Candy Sales: Remember to continue to sell the Morley candy items and return forms next week. Proceeds go towards the class trips. Look for news about a Washington D.C. meeting in the next two weeks.
Boxtops for Education: St. Mary’s is collecting Boxtops for Education this year. Please clip Boxtops, register at www.boxtops4education.com (we get additional Boxtops for everyone signing up), shop at Boxtops Marketplace, and enter the draws. This is a free way of earning money for the school.
Thank you for making MCES the best it can be!
