Mrs. McNamee's Biography:
My name is Mrs. Rebecca McNamee. I graduated from Madonna University where I majored in English/Speech with a minor in Elementary Education. I received a Master's in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College. I taught elementary school for eleven years. Also, I worked seven years as an online reading and math teacher where I tutored students in grades K-12 from all over the United States. Previously, I have worked as a middle school language arts teacher at the MCES-St. Mary Middle School Campus. The last few years, I have been teaching third grade at St. John's. I have been married for nineteen years and we have three daughters (17, 13, and 11). We have two giant dogs and a fluffy cat that complete our household. I enjoy sports, reading, and spending time with my family. Currently, I am the assistant coach of the U12 Downriver Diamonds travel softball team. I am super excited to be a part of MCES-St. John Campus! I am looking forward to working with students, parents and staff to make this the best year possible. My philosophy of teaching is to obtain a safe learning environment for all my students in which they feel comfortable to express their feelings, take risks, and learn to their highest potential. I will instill a love of learning in my students and help them to develop a positive, caring, and respectful attitude. I will allow my students to feel success and to learn from their mistakes. I want every student to leave my classroom with a smile on his/her face and a desire to learn in his/her heart. Please stop by my classroom to introduce yourself! I love meeting new people!
