Mrs. Lisa Sowatsky —Middle School Math 6th and 8th
I graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. At Eastern Michigan University, I earned my teaching certificate and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I have taught in secondary schools for 12 years. The last ten years, I taught various math classes at St. Mary Catholic Central High School.
I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have two children that are alumni of SMCC. My daughter is a student at Grand Valley State University and my son is studying at Western Michigan University. I enjoy spending time with my family, watching sports, and knitting.
I am excited to be a part of MCES – St. Mary Middle School! I look forward to working with students, parents, and staff to make this a great year. I hope to create a positive learning environment where students feel safe to take risks, be themselves, and learn math in fun and creative ways.
